SpVgg Greuther Furth v Liverpool PSF.

So it’s onto our 2nd pre season friendly against German opposition, again from the 2nd tier of Germany. After the first friendly we hope for a more intense start but hey it’s all about fitness and sharpness in pre season. Hopefully we’ll have enough fit players left to field a team when the season proper begins.

Today at noon BST we shall be welcomed by Greuther Furth from Baveria.

Founded in 1903. They are not very successful these days but they do have a bit of history. Pre Bundesliga era they won the league in 1914, 1926 and 1929. In 2012/13 they played in the Bundesliga for the first time, though they went straight back down again. They bounced back up in 20/21 and bounced back down again in 21/22. Obviously the German equivalent of Norwich city.

Furth play In front of a capacity of 16,626, which isn’t much more than Bournemouth.

All we really care about for this game is for the lads to stay fit, oh yeah and win obviously.

It will be a small ground atmosphere but when full can make a lot of noise, apparently

Its a noon kick off on a Monday so many won’t be able to watch it live. Fortunately I’m on a day off so I can watch this one, for a change.

We don’t need to win but it would be proper nice if we do win.

We are LIVERPOOL!
