Liverpool vs Crystal Palace

I think it can only a matter of time before Klopp goes to the Palace to collect an honorary knighthood but for the time being the Palace is coming to Klopp in the form of Crystal Palace. No I don’t know where I am going with that either so before anyone notices I’ll get on with the football.

It is always nice to welcome back to Anfield a successful and internationally respected ex manager of Liverpool with a very high standing in the game. However, that will have to wait for another day because on Wednesday Roy Hodgson returns to Anfield with Crystal Palace.

It is also always a great pleasure to welcome ex players back to Anfield too especially exciting dynamic prolific goalscorers and calm elegant ball playing centre backs but again that too will have to wait for another team and another day.;-)

In all seriousness CP are doing well under Roy and like most teams coming to Anfield they will try to soak up the pressure and hit us on the break with the pace of Zaha or hit long balls to Benteke to hold up the play and bring in players running off him. They have won their last four games without conceding but this was against more lowly opposition. I don’t care how we do it but we need three points from this game though a convincing performance would be good too.

Team: I think and hope we put out the first 11 on Wednesday and by that I mean. Alisson, TAA, Gomez, VVD, Robbo, Fab, Hendo, Gini, Mane, Firmino and Salah. The bench might be a bit sparse though with both Matip and Milner picking up knocks and Keita in a spot of bother having been accused of sexual assault in the court of Twitter and is probably not in the best frame of mind.
