Liverpool vs Burnley

It doesn’t seem that long ago since we last played Burnley but here we are again with a home game against the clarets and their World famous mascot Bertie Bee. As you will recall he was banned for offering the referee a pair of spectacles. Since then he has tackled a streaker and starred in his own documentary. He is fast becoming a legend in his own lunchtime.

Burnley have done well since the restart and sit mid table. They are defensively very good and look to snatch a goal and hang on to it which has worked well for them. We will need to be on our game and in particular will need to sharpen up the defensively from recent games. We will of course be without our inspirational Captain Hendo (scan results due later today) so others will need to step up in what is likely to be a rough and uncomfortable game. I can’t help but like their manager though, who is also a Liverpool fan. Still wouldn’t want to get on the wrong side of him though………

I see the Salah selfish claims are re-emerging again as the chase for the golden boot hots up. There were a couple of occasions in the last game against Brighton (and the one against Hove Albion) when he might have been better passing but it’s much easier sometimes to see the passes from overhead sitting on your sofa than when you are surrounded by players and trying to control the ball.

Difficult to predict the team given recent changes sometimes starting with a strong side and other times resting normal starters and bringing them on later. I think he will start strong with the following team though I would have Milner in place of Keita.

Team: Alisson, TAA, Gomez, VVD, Robbo, Fab, Gini, Keita, Mane, Firmino, winkle.
