Brighton ‘rocked’ by Salah and Co.

I’m a bit strapped for time this week so just a quick filler, rather than a full ratings thread.

The red machine rolls on then, as Brighton were dispatched 3-1. Brighton showed incredible naivety in the opening stages, I really don’t know why inferior teams keep attempting to play out from the back against us. It plays right into our hands as Brighton discovered, finding themselves 2-0 down inside ten minutes and giving themselves a mountain to climb.

Nice finish from Salah for the first, with the assist from Keita and then Hendo popped up with a fine finish from just outside the box.

We took our foot off the gas a bit after that though and allowed Brighton to rally and they scored an excellent goal that belies their league position.

Young Neco got some minutes and gave a good account of himself, including a superb block. You can see he’s not a left back though and having been booked first half, was replaced by Robbo at half time. The kid looks a player though, although we really do need better cover for both Robbo and Mane on the left hand side.

Brighton were giving a good account of themselves however, prompting Klopp to bring on Fabinho and Mane. We regained control and Salah added the third, nodding home from Robbo’s corner to seal the three points. Hendo going of injured took some of the shine off the result and we now await the result of his scan.

Three more wins then for the new points record and two more home wins and we’ll be the only team in history to win all their home games. It really is some achievement from this team and as we saw last night, we’re now capable of beating the Brightons of this world in about third gear.

Burnley next up then and even without Hendo we should have too much for them, so onwards and Kloppwards to that record points tally. Walk on troops
