Leeds v Liverpool

Not surprisingly we start with a couple of injury doubts in Alisson and Konate, either one of which would be a bad loss but as they are part of the spine of the team losing both of them would make things very difficult. Hopefully they are just knocks and not “knocks” and they will both be fit to start.

A small point about the decision not to pursue the signing of Bellingham. As transfer fees are amortised and often paid over a number of years the likely loss of CL football might just have been the tipping point as the income from CL last year was I think around £70m and that taken off the transfer budget over the coming years coupled with a bigger than expected rebuild needed this year might have changed the club’s thinking.

Anyway, back to Leeds who will no doubt be fired up after getting a trouncing in their last match at home to Crystal Palace. If we are to come away with a much needed three points. We will need to see the second half Liverpool from the Arsenal game for the whole match and that’s something we’ve not been good at especially away from home.
