The “Heavy Metal” Is Gone: My Final, Honest Thoughts on Arne Slot.

An article from GDoc.

Hi dear friends,

I know it has been a while since I last posted. To be honest, the ongoing war in Lebanon is completely consuming my days because my family is over there right now. If it hadn’t been for watching LFC over here in the US, I think I would have gone crazy from the stress.

I wanted to share my final thoughts on this season. I know what I’m about to say might upset a few posters here, but the truth is, Arne Slot is not who we thought he was. In my opinion, his is subpar for a Liverpool manager. In almost every game we’ve played this season, we have looked incredibly vulnerable, even in the matches we won at the beginning of the campaign when we all thought we were on our way winning the Premier League again.

Slot simply doesn’t understand this league yet. Admittedly, it took Klopp some time to find his feet but look at the squad Klopp inherited back then compared to the world-class team Slot was handed.

I still don’t understand why he insists on playing Gakpo as a No. 9 where he looks completely lost. Isak should be the one leading the line there. And why does he keep starting Mac Allister when he hasn’t produced anything of note this season? Look at Wirtz when he plays for Germany and looks an absolute superstar, but under Slot, he looks average at best.

Yes, Momade a mistake with his timing, but we can’t argue with his recent comments about this “not being Liverpool.” He’s right, just let’s go back to the heavy metal football we were famous for, the style that everyone feared.

Also, letting Robbo go when he still has so much to give is baffling. There are just so many “why’s” right now and absolutely no answers. Passing on Xabi Alonso and letting him go to a rival just to stick with Slot is completely unfathomable to me.

The funniest part about all of this is Slot constantly saying we need to bring in more players. Dude, what about players you already bought who are currently suffering badly under your tactical?

YNWA.
