Paris here we come!!!

What a bizarre game! The first half was as poor a half as I remember us playing in years! We couldn’t string two passes together, we were way behind on possession and literally created no chances. Our two goal lead from the first leg gone and we looked as nervous and disheveled as I can remember under Klopp.

To quote an old cliche however, it’s a game of two halves and second half the real Liverpool turned up and simply swept Villarreal aside. Sure there’s some question marks over their goalkeeper but between Karius and Adrian, we’ve had our share of goalkeeping blunders costing us in the CL in recent years, so it was nice to see that work in our favour for once.

There’s nowhere else to start when talking about this comeback though, than Luis Diaz. This guy isn’t just knocking on the door for a first choice slot, he’s karate kicked the bouncer and then kicked the door down. You simply can’t defend him one v one and when you combine his work ethic and tenacity with his flair and skill, he’s simply a nightmare for defenders. For as brilliant as Jota has been, if we’re playing the CL final tomorrow then my front three is Diaz left, Mane through the middle and Salah on the right, albeit Salah’s struggling for form right now but you know he’s a man for the big stage.

Once again the character of this team has shone through. Fair play to Villarreal, they gave everything they had in the first half and managed to claw back the deficit and their fans are a credit to them. It was a bridge too far however and once our boys found their feet second half, we were just too good for them.

Another CL final then, what’s that, four European finals in seven years under Klopp? You can’t argue with that and regardless of whether Paris is red and white, or red and sky blue come the final, you know Liverpool fans will dominate and represent properly.

What a time to be a Liverpool fan. Oh and Diaz McMOTM if you’re interested. Walk on!!
