Newcastle vs League, European and World Champions

I suppose I should say something about Newcastle as we are their guests on Sunday. It can be a bit nippy up there. Ok that’s enough about Newcastle, back to the only team that matters ……

DaBandit mentioned in the last thread that if we lost the game we would finish the season on 96 points which would be a fitting tribute to Hillsborough. But I read an article in the echo (co co) in which Klopp said that when the trophy was lifted we were on 96 points and that was the tribute and that makes sense to me too. Because of that, I can see no reason not to finish the season in style and give Newcastle another good thrashing. Another good reasons for finishing the season in style will be give the comedy pairing of Bruce and Ashley a poke in the eye.

Ok I suppose I really should say something else about Newcastle which was named after the castle built by William the Conqueror’s son William Curthose in 1080 which is the last time anyone actually invested any funds in Newcastle. Despite this and reluctantly, I have to say that Steve Bruce has actually done a pretty good job to deliver a mid table finish. But, with the club likely to be sold by one dodgy owner to another dodgy owner in another dodgy deal, I think Bruce’s job next season is looking…….. well, dodgy.

Salah needs just 4 goals to overhaul Vardy for the golden boot and I have calculated on the basis of his current scoring record that the team only needs to create 472 chances in the match for him to score 4 times. So everything to play for. Maybe he needs to think about himself a bit more and go for glory even if that means being a little bit selfish. If he does get the record I feel Jock might go mad and give him a seven in the ratings.

In other news Virgil was asked if he might be just a little bit superior and arrogant but he quickly dispelled the rumours by saying looking down at the the reporter and saying arrogant, moi? Clearly, there is no truth in the rumours then and in reality, his humility knows no bounds.

A special mention to Lallana, Lovren and Shaqiri and as the best of the bunch Lallana gets his picture featured. All have made their contribution to the team and i wish them well at their new clubs.

Team: Again difficult to pick really as there will be an end of term vibe around the game and Klopp might decide to mix things up a bit but I will assume not and go for Alisson, TAA. Gomez, VVD, Robbo, Fab, Gini, Keita, Mane Firmino, Salah.
