Liverpool vs Southampton
The next match is the visit to Anfield of Southampton or ” The Saints”. The picture below is of Roger Moore playing Simon Templar or “The Saint”. This was a TV programme that ran in the UK during the 1960s as I am sure you all remember 😉 As we know though, there is only one real “Saint” worthy of the name and that is Ian St John
Now we turn to the important footballing issue of mascots. Pictured below are the Southampton mascots a couple of dogs and some fans in the background. Hmm perhaps I could have phrased that better.
There are lots of player links between Southampton and Liverpool and though relations were strained after the VVD business this seems to have been put to one side now as we were kind enough to let them sign Ingsy. We got Clyne, Crouch, Lallana, Lambert, Lovren, Mane, and VVD from them and they got Ingsy from us. Seems fair.
In celebration of the links between the two clubs and to mark Peter Crouch’s Birthday (this Thursday just gone) I have included a picture of his wife Abby Clancy. Any suggestion I am using this picture merely to attract posters to the site (Nice to see you Greg) is strongly refuted*. That would smack of desperation and would be totally at odds with the very high standards we set ourselves. Even if it works we would only do this in future if it was essential to the story which it might well be………
Southampton blow hot and cold but are handily placed in the League in ninth place with their eyes on a Europa League spot after looking like relegation candidates for much of last season. Their manager Dr. Hfuhruhurr has done a really good job with them and as mentioned above they now have Ingsy who is in a rich vein of form at the moment. It should be remembered too we only played on Wednesday and they are well rested. The game is far from a foregone conclusion and the crowd will have their part to play if we are to extend our winning run.

Origi picked up a niggle against West ‘aaam but might still play in place of Mini and Fab might not be ready to start yet so Ox may get to continue.
