Liverpool vs Manchester United (Jan 19/20)

Another big game this one probably still the biggest against a team led by one of the best football managers ever. But enough of their former glories they are now struggling and are instead led, if that is the right word, by little “Ollie” Gunnar Solskjaer (that’s another fine mess you’ve got me into )

You will know that I have a thing about club mascots and I have trawled (or trolled) the internet and I believe their new “caretaker” mascot is a creature called Gollum who is apparently obsessed with his ring. (Editor: have you got the pictures the right way round? Though on second thoughts don’t worry – no one will notice)

The last time we played United I said:

“This has always been a difficult game for us even under Klopp and I think he has sometimes played it too cautiously and given them too much respect. This Manu team really is not to be feared. Providing we don’t allow ourselves to  get drawn into any silly wars and rely on our superior skills and teamwork we really should run out the winners.”

I stand by this and whilst I understand they have the players to catch us on the break, If we play our game even if they are able play their best for the full 90 minutes, which is doubtful after a gruelling game against Wolves, that still won’t be good enough to match us.

Also Pogba was struggling with an injury back then and he still is now. I don’t know the details of the injury but I do know it is made worse by draughts as the medical team has said they are expecting a full recovery once the window has closed……

In other news Ashley Young has apparently walked out of training to force his move to Inter. Manu fans are hoping this sets a trend and that Luke Shaw too will decide to “waddle” out of training.

Team: Alisson, TAA, Gomez, The Duck, Robbo, Hendo. Gini, Ox, Mane, Firmino. Salah. Hopefully, with Fab and Matip returning to the bench. Keita is the only really serious player missing now with injury.
