Liverpool v Wolves

Last game of the season, a championship decider and it’s Wolves. Well that takes me back a bit. Right the way back to 1976 in fact with me listening to the game in the evening in my bedroom on a small transistor radio (strange place to have a bedroom but then again it was 1976)

The great thing about tomorrow is that it’s a no lose situation. As far as I am concerned we have had a brilliant campaign and whatever happens tomorrow it can’t possibly take that away from me. Added to that, there is just the merest, faintest, tiddliest, little, itsy-bitsy, smidgen of a possibility that we could be about to witness the most amazing climax to the season which would leave us unable to stop smiling for the whole Summer. It probably won’t, but every second that possibility remains a possibility is to be savoured. If it doesn’t work out, we will of course say well done City and thanks for the battle. You really deserve it along with a good dose of monkeypox😁.

Obviously, though we still have to win the match against Wolves and we shouldn’t take that for granted. We will almost certainly need to do it with at least some of our first choice players missing or on the bench. I expect Klopp to start the game with as strong as possible starting 11 to maintain the players’ rhythm (as he always says) but it would be nice to make use of the subs in the second half mindful of the game still to come….

I won’t try to name the team and it doesn’t really matter because whatever team Klopp puts out we know it will be a strong one capable of doing the job needed. The only thing left to say is thanks to the team for a wonderful journey and thanks to you ‘orrible lot too for your company along the way and it’s still not over….
