Liverpool V The BlueShite.
Today we play the prior owners of our Stadium, Tennant’s actually because they didn’t pay their rent and were ultimately kicked out.
The BlueShite were formed in 1878, 14 years before our beautiful club formed from the ashes of their misguided management. They’ve been bitter ever since.
The rivalry between both clubs has been intense from very early and continues to this day.
Footballing cities such as Liverpool, Glasgow too have or used to have ( Glasgow still does ) had a religious affiliation. The BlueShite were predominantly Catholic, Liverpool were predominantly Protestant.
We on the Kop used to chant all the time, “Celtic, Rangers” I suppose that was our way of airing religious affiliation but it was never sectarian, not in my day anyway.
The BlueShite have had their moments of dominance over Liverpool through the ages. They were a founder member of football league in 1888 but that’s in the past.
Today the BlueShite are in disarray, a complete mess in fact.
Will they succumb to the trap door? Probably not but it would be funny if they did.
Soop posted a fantastic vid of a 1955 FA cup match between the clubs a few days ago that summed up the passion of the derby, the reds won 4-0 at Goodished when we were dormant in the 2nd Division. Back then the BlueShite were the dominant team in this fair City.
Times change, seas ebb and flow as the tides change to favour one or the other. At times the tides of success push in the same direction, such as the mid 80’s when the BlueShite actually stepped up to rival us and they were good but they sold their best players and returned to obscurity. I’d say that’s a shame but I’d be lying so I won’t say it.
Liverpool, the City is a unique place, it really is. We have two clubs with intense rivalry but we as a Community outside of football are together as one entity.
We are Scousers first and stand together as one, which is arguably unrivalled anywhere else in this land of ours.
The history, banter, togetherness of both our clubs has perpetuated through the ages of time. Nothing will change ( in football terms ) as we both want, no crave the bragging rights of victory and that’s only normal and proper.
I don’t gamble but I’ve got a friendly ( depends how friendly after the match ) bet of a 10er on us winning n my blue nose mate concurred. Looks like I’ll be £10 richer on Sunday.
This is probably a bit of a ramble for a Matchday thread but you should be used to it by now, no?🙄
Onwards we march, reaching the summit of yet another mountain. We have already placed one flag on a mountain and we want more.
Shall we peer across each peek to witness 4 flags at the summit of glory?
Only time will tell.
In life Scousers are one, in football we are rivals. That’s how it is and has always been.
Let’s smash em up and shake hands next year when they are in the Championship. I’m a bitch, I know but it would be fun.
Will they, can they beat us? Of course they can. We never expect, we deliver.

Let’s put them to the sword once again n watch them being even more bitter than they are already.
What’s funny though is they’ve whined about us having more money than them and yet when they acquired a rich(ish) owner they blew their money on shite.
Oh well.
