Liverpool v Leeds

This fixture is one of my favourite ones as it always reminds me of the very first match I ever watched on TV and which started me on a lifetime of supporting Liverpool.

I was looking at the table expecting to see Leeds above us, but despite all the recent doom and gloom, I found us well placed in eighth and Leeds wallowing in the relegation places. In many ways it’s sad to see Leeds, a great club from my youth, struggling this season and I wish them well for the future, starting next week…..

The recovery and return of injured players continues with Jones, Ox, Ramsay and Konate all now back and fully in contention and Thiago recovered from his ear infection. With Keita and Matip also apparently closing in on returns, that just leaves Diaz, Jota and possibly Melo to return to action, hopefully straight after the World cup.

As we have now qualified for the latter stages of the CL all that remains is to close the gap on the top 4 to set up a storming finish in the second half of the season. COYR
