Liverpool v Arse

I have a confession to make which might surprise some people. I am not a great fan of Arsenal. I know, I know I am not the type of person to have long held grudges so it couldn’t possibly be anything to do with Michael Thomas or Bobby George. Plus, I am barely old enough to remember 1989 let alone 1971…Anyway, whatever the reason, every time we beat them it means more to me than almost any other team we beat, with only wins against Manu meaning more.

After a really poor start to the season , Arsenal have hit a run of form and surprised me with their results though their run hasn’t included any of the big boys until now. Their stand out player has been Saka from an offensive perspective though all of their players are pretty offensive to me. I just hope that our usual Alisson turns up for the game today and not the one that showed up for the West Ham game where he allowed himself to be put off by aerial challenges. He’s a big lad and needs to dominate his 6 yard box.

It is difficult to pick the team as it depends very much on injuries and availability. So, it’s very much a question of either/or especially in the midfield where our injury woes, though improving, are still a problem. Team: Alisson, TAA, Matip, VVD, Robbo ( or Tsimikas) Fab (or Ox), Hendo (or Ox) Thiago, Mane, Jota, Salah. Ox could have his work cut out though, if both Fab and Hendo are not fit to start the game 😉 All I can say is hurry back Milner and Jones to give us a few more options though I wouldn’t mind seeing a bit more of Morton either.
