Liverpool 3-1 Burnley

It was important to bounce back from defeat at Arsenal and get our campaign back on track with three points yesterday and that’s what we did.

It was another slow start by us, our sloppy passing allowing Burnley to counter attack and they had plenty chances, usually (predictably) coming down our right flank, forcing Kelleher into a couple of smart saves.

At the other end, Jota continued his scoring streak, reaffirming his position as our most important attacker this season with a well taken header and after we scored, our play improved. Nonetheless, Burnley found an equaliser through an excellent header from a corner and it was all square once more.

We kept the pressure up however and Elliot – who I thought was excellent when he came on, provided not one but two assists, to Diaz and Nunez respectively, the latter scoring a brilliant header from a difficult angle and taking his tally to a respectable 12 at this stage of the season.

It’s tough for Elliot being out the team but all you can do as a young player is put the effort in and try and impact the game when you do come on and Harvey has done that on a number of occasions this season. His mate Carvalho could learn a thing or two about attitude from Harvey.

Good to see Robbo back in the starting lineup and Quansah had another good game, one mistake which almost led to a goal aside. I thought Endo was solid coming back into the starting lineup as well.

Brentford up next in the dreaded 12:30 kickoff so I suspect it won’t be a pretty game but it’s important to keep the momentum king at this stage of the season and keep picking up points as this is where City generally go on monster runs so it’s now just about keeping the pace and see where we are with 10 games to go. Walk on!
