Everton vs Liverpool

It is hard to talk about this match now without referring back to the Villa match and worrying which Liverpool team will turn up and whether Adrian has gone to Specsavers.

I still cannot really explain what happened at Villa. Ok Adrian was wobbly but virtually the team just didn’t seem to play the way we know they can. Villa had the luck with deflections but we allowed them to get into the position to shoot and defenders turned away from the shots. No one seemed prepared to put their bodies on the line and fight to stay in the game. I am just hoping it was a never to be repeated one-off and the shock reaction to the defeat will have shaken the players to want to put the record straight. Oh and I hope they all opened the text that klopp sent to them……

I can’t decide whether a game against Everton at this time is a good or bad thing. No game is easy but a Derby has an extra edge which might bring out the best in the side but might also lead to a messy match which could be a lottery. Fine if we come through it with a win, but could really unsettle the whole team and especially Adrian if we don’t and you can be sure CalvinLewis will be shooting on sight at every opportunity.

Everton are finally getting their shit together under Ancelotti and will be a real challenge. He has managed to get them performing well especially Clive-Ewing up front even if they have not played any of the big boys yet. On the plus side for us we will have more players to choose from including of course the return of the mighty Hendo.

Team: Adrian, TAA, Gomez, VVD, Robbo, Fab, Hendo, Alcantara, Firmino, Mane and Salah. I toyed with the idea of Matip instead of Gomez but I think Klopp won’t want to undermine Gomez for the future and Matip is only just recovered from injury. Hopefully Gomez will show his true ability and have Delbert-Lewin in his pocket.
