Chelsea vs Liverpool
Wow what a funny old day yesterday was. At the start everyone was moaning about FSG (Friggin’ Stingy Gits) and by the end they were FSG (Fantastic Supportive Guys), All they have to do now is get the deals over the line for Dembele, Sarr and Koulibaly and even John will be thinking we might yet finish in the top half of the table;-) I give them 10 out of 10 and no doubt Jay would give them one, at least ….
I must admit I was one of those saying we didn’t necessarily need to buy more players this window but I am pleased we did. It sends out a message to our opponents that, as Klopp said, we intend to attack and not just defend OUR title. At the same time it sends that same message to our players and our supporters too.
After a slightly creaky start first time out against an exciting young Leeds side I expect us to revert to the well oiled machine we know we are and rise to the challenge of big spenders Chelsea. Hopefully, by the time they have introduced themselves to each other and compared wad sizes, Liverpool will be home and dry and sitting comfortably atop the table. Chelsea have a solid midfield and potentially exciting attack but their Achilles heel is their defence and providing our defence does its job I fully expect our front three to prove too much for them.
<Chelsea have come a long way since they were the nasty grubby little club in the 70’s and 80’s and are now a nasty grubby big club owned by an even nastier grubbier Russian Oligarch and (for now at least) managed by fat Frank.
I don’t think Klopp will put Thiago in the squad for Sunday. So I am going for the usual starting eleven. Team: Alisson, TAA, Gomez, VVD, Robbo, Fab, Gini, Hendo, Mane, Firmino, Salah.
