Atletico Madrid v Liverpool
Back to nail biting matches again and the Champions League knockout stage. I really love these European nights. We are playing Atletico Madrid in the first leg on Tuesday and their nickname is the “mattress makers” because their shirts resembled the red and white striped material traditionally used used to cover mattresses.
Talking of shirts though I got this little snippet from Wiki ” Previously, the club was sponsored by Colombia Pictures, who would change the shirt sponsor’s logo, and occasionally the shirt itself, as they did with the away shirt when Spiderman 2 was in cinemas”;-) Their mascot is a non PC representation of an Apache called Indi.
Atletico are having an up and down season and are vying for third and fourth places with several other clubs. It seems Trippier and Felix will be out but Morata and Costa both likely to be fit. This will be a challenging game but if we are to dominate the footballing world, these are the games we need to take in our stride 1-3.
