Preston North End v Liverpool

No doubt this will be an emotional match following the dreadful news of Diogo Jota and his brother André Silva. It will though be good to get back to the football though even if it is only a friendly against championship opposition.

I know very little about Preston, but I have discovered they have a mascot called Deepdale duck. That’s the one with the big pouty lips and prominent chest in the picture below. (Ed: are you sure they said duck?). Other than that, I know they are a proper club with real history behind them and it’s good that Liverpool are supporting a local team by having a pre-season game against them. Their manager is known to us as the ex manager of Sheffield United who, unfortunately, took them to the hecking bottom of the league. Let’s hope he has better luck with PNE

I have no idea what the team will be like but I suspect most if not all of the available first team as well as fringe and youth players will get a run out with most probably only playing half the game as is usual for pre-season.

The kickoff is 3pm and is live on ITV and the LFC site.
