Spurs v Liverpool

Just a couple of points from the game which will almost certainly cause some people to disagree with me. So get your pitchforks at the ready.

First: was Keita responsible for Spurs first goal? I have looked at it a few times and I think that is harsh to say he pulled out of the tackle, He was expecting a pass on the angle taking him away from the tackler. TAA under hit the pass which left him unbalanced and favoured the tackler who was running onto the ball. After that, Robbo played Kane onside and you could even argue that both Konate and Alisson might have done better too, though that might be stretching things 😉

Second: Robbo’s non-apology, apology. Regardless of the Kane foul on Robbo, which should have seen him sent off, Robbo’s foul was at least as bad and possibly worse. Had that been on a Liverpool player we would, quite rightly, all be fuming. Then some fans are even giving him credit for holding his hands up and saying “I take responsibility”. Well so he bloody should. It was dreadful, he did it and he got sent off. But did he really even take responsibility? First, he tried to pass the buck onto the officials by saying he gave them a reason to do something and his “apology” didn’t even make so much as a passing reference, let alone an apology, to the player he assaulted.

I am happy for you to disagree with me though as I’m sure you will
