I don’t like what has happened with Salah and wish he hadn’t done the interview. I don’t know though whether he has been treated badly or not by Slot because I am not privvy to what has gone on between them and nor is anyone else, but I don’t think he deserved to be singled out in such a public manner and dropped for three matches. What is he supposed to do if he feels he has been mistreated and when by his own admission Slot has hardly spoken to him before or after the outburst? Yes it was an over emtional and counter productive but very human response and sounds much like one I would have given. Surely, as a Senior player who has given the club so much, he deserves a bit more respect than he appears to have been shown. True, he has not played to his usual very high standards, but his numbers aren’t actually that bad and imo there are other players who have been more responsible for the team’s failings. Perhaps, with the team struggling, Hughes and Slot see Mo as a source of funds to complete the rebuild. Who knows? I certainly don’t because I don’t have any idea of what style of play Slot is trying to implement.

It is clear now that the transition of the team has been badly mismanaged and Slot and Hughes must take the biggest share of the blame for that. I think we will struggle going forward without Mo and only then will we fully appreciate the amazing servant he has been for the club and for me even this outburst cannot erase the pleasure he has given me over the years.

I have defended Slot recently against some of the more absurd criticism much of which has now transferred across to Mo. He did an amazing job in his first year following on from another club legend. However, to be honest I have never warmed to him and don’t much like his version of football, whatever that now is. I don’t much care for Carra either, for very different reasons and I don’t like his comments about Mo. This is another ocassion, as with the spitting incident, when he would have been better off just keeping his big gob shut.

I have just tried to put in words here what I can see the whole Liverpool fanbase is thinking…..😁
