I Love Liverpool FC

I love this club. Liverpool FC is the club of the people, it represents the city and its people like no other club can manage. The city of Liverpool itself is a city that is looked down upon, never given respect and constantly has its citizens get knocked down by the world around them. But this city is also very resilient. Every time Liverpool is knocked down, it gets back up. And the team emulates that in every way.

Liverpool’s hero is the manager Jurgen Klopp. I love Jurgen Klopp. Klopp not only instills the qualities of the city into his club, he defends every one of us to the hilt. From his players to the fans, he recognizes each and every one of us and makes us feel the respect we deserve. Perhaps that is why we all look up to Liverpool. They lift us up from the darkness to celebrate and bask in their light. That light is nearly as blinding as Klopp’s smile. A great tactician second, a great human being first. Jurgen Klopp may be “The Normal One”, but he’s got a special place in every Liverpool fan’s heart.

Of course, every team needs a great captain, a man to fulfill the manager’s orders and make sure they get across to the other players. Jordan Henderson is that captain. A working class hero, the definition of hard work, the story that proves how the mindset of improving oneself every day can take you to your dreams. A good man from Sunderland that’s the adopted son of Liverpool, the only captain in the club’s history to win six different trophies. He gives it everything every time he plays, it’s easy to see that every player has that quality and Klopp does as well. Our intensity, our desire, our passion carries us to victory.

But of course, as much as passion endears a club to the fans, you need some class to properly challenge for trophies. Klopp has unleashed the best from every player he’s touched, like a proper manager should, believing in them at every turn. Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz, now Darwin Nunez, have spearheaded the attack. Players like Xherdan Shaqiri, Takumi Minamino, Daniel Sturridge and obviously Divock Origi have each provided crucial moments where they no longer were mere depth, but club cult icons.

The midfield oozed with both class and workmen. The skills of Thiago and Philippe Coutinho, the graft of Adam Lallana, Jordan Henderson, Georginio Wijnaldum, and James Milner, the steel of Fabinho and Lucas Leiva, the goals of Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Curtis Jones, the promise of Harvey Elliott and Fabio Carvalho.

The defense an indomitable stronghold, led by Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip, Ibrahima Konate, and Joe Gomez, yet also infused with the creativity of Andrew Robertson, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Kostas Tsimikas, Nathaniel Clyne, now Calvin Ramsay. Culture builders like Ragnar Klavan, Dejan Lovren, Alberto Moreno and Nathaniel Clyne.

The goalies led by Alisson and Caoimhin Kelleher formed a wall in front of goal, while players like Loris Karius, Adrian and Simon Mignolet were good at starting parties. They’ve built Liverpool back up to the success we’ve seen, each and every one of them. They each deserve credit.

This isn’t a long-winded article about how we should go forward, unusual for me I know. But I felt a bit nostalgic and felt before we move forward with the new edition of Klopp’s Liverpool, we must properly acknowledge the past under Klopp and all of the great success we’ve already seen. We’ve won everything there is to win with these guys, time to go out and win again.
