I have to say it does seem surprising that a player of Salah’s quality and proven excellence suddenly loses everything in just a few short months and wonder whether it’s more to do with the changing setup in the team to operate with a playmaker and a number nine (or two even for some strange reason). If so, it sounds like you’re throwing your league winning baby out with the bath water. We moved out a proven winger with the ability to get to the byline (Diaz) then reduced the support for our proven match winner and top assist provider while the new main number nine is injured and/or unfit and our main playmaker is very pretty but a bit lightweight and currently not up to completing a match. Then when it goes tits up decide that the solution is to double down and drop Mo. I really can’t see what was frustrating him….
