Liverpool v Athletic Bilbao

Today we play Athletic Bilbao at 1700 and once again it is live on LFC TV. Then at 20.00 the same evening we play, yes you’ve got it, Athletic Bibao again and yes, it will also be live on LFC TV. This will be like deja vu and if you didn’t know any better, you could even say that it will be like deja vu. Our intrepid 4kk reporting team say that it is so that those people who miss the first game can watch the game again three hours later. I did point out that these days we have modern technology like betamax recorders which would make this unnecessary, but as FSG pointed out, their way means they get two lots of gate receipts, two lots of TV money and two lots of advertising etc etc. Well I suppose it will all help to fund the signings of Rodrygo, Sesko, Guehi and Isak….

Bilbao are known as the lions because they are near a church named after Saint Mammes who was thrown to the lions. I am a bit disappointed that they took the side of the lions over poor old Saint Mammes, but they will find out what it is like to be on the other side when they will be the ones to get a right good mauling. However, unlike Saint Mammes, they will get to experience it twice…..
