Ch ch ch ch changes…..

I know we’re all football fans on here and that means we have to put all reason to one side when discussing football, other teams, their fans and especially our own club, manager and players. I am though a little worried when I hear everyone claiming we have improved the side since last season.

I accept the transfer window is still open and things may change but let’s just look at a few of the facts as they currently stand. We have bought in the highly rated Wirst as well as exciting prospects Frimpong, Kerkez and Ekitike. On the other hand Diaz, TAA and Quansah moved on and we very sadly lost Jota too.

Of the players coming in only Kerkez has Premier league experience and he has never played 60 games in a season and they all need to bed in to the team which will also have to adapt to a new pattern of play. On the other hand we lost premier league hardened players well versed in the Liverpool way and of course, VVD, Salah and Robbo are all another year older….

In summary, I can see the potentiasl for the side to have improved but that assumes those coming in will match expectations and hit the ground running straight away. This may well happen and my fears will be swept away in an avalanche of dominant wins and a ton of goals. On the other hand in the past while our incoming transfers have generally exceeded expectations not all have worked out as well as we’d hoped. Over to you…..
